    Owner's Review long term stark

No war needed bro, not everyone's experience and use cases are the same. It is a good first effort. Even the big guys with years of experience struggle with first effort. Triumph and Ducati are having issues with their new MX bikes and, conversely, the last Zuke 450 I rode (2024) was heavy and...

Powertrain failed and making horrible sounds

Bearings are often the unrecognized source of failures. They often give little indication of pending catastrophe and can fail at the most critical times.

MX / EX screws for spoiler

Hmmm didn't those have blue loctite on them? Mine do, but I guess blue wears off quickly if you use the fasteners a lot.

    Wow that is mighty lucky.

How long are we expecting the Stark battery to last (long term)

Agreed. I see this a lot in tech... Companies would rather take the risk of selling more of a product than building an upgradable platform. With competition around the corner like Flux or the Chinese companies with upgradable platforms, trying to win on innovation alone gets harder and harder.

    Owner's Review long term stark

I hear your opinion on the bike as it is. It does not suit your needs. But I think Stark did a pretty good job for its first effort. Think about the Yamaha yzf series, it took them 13 years to get decent 4Ts and it took from 2001-2019 to really get them good. I owned many yz250fs and 450fs...

How long are we expecting the Stark battery to last (long term)

What would be great would be if in situ upgrades were possible. So the platform would remain intact (connectors & etc) and the user would get the improvements with upgraded cell capacity.

Stark varg support is the worst

This is so true. Plus, there are good dealerships with guys who actually ride and sell Starks and treat their customers good and are ambassadors for the brand, and then there are others just looking to be stealerships. Here in the Northeast USA I do business with MotorbikesPlus in New...

Stark varg support is the worst

How about they pony up for a dropbox where customers can drop off necessary information like videos. If they are going to try to do customer service they need basic business tools. Its like 1985 all over again. o_O

Australian Championship shows why the AMA has banned Stark. It ain’t Safety.

Yes. But that was 10 years ago. If Alta had stayed on course and was able to grow they might have stayed on top of market with developments. Woulda, coulda, shoulda I know... Europe is a much more natural place for development of new motorcycles anyway, since Europe has a true motorcycle...

Australian Championship shows why the AMA has banned Stark. It ain’t Safety.

Alta probably got a pass because it was American made and once allowed it wouldn't really be fair to not allow others. If American companies were still in the game I don't think the AMA would have been as easily pushed around by the Japanese and other ICE companies.

Post here your Stark Varg issues (or not!)

I have some previous posts around here about the powerswitch. I ride mostly hard enduro and it is very swampy I have crashed my bike and submerged the switch in mud and it has failed far out in the woods. I have done this more than once. The switches need rubberboots. I know the Stark guys...

Post here your Stark Varg issues (or not!)

Anything you pay for with that dealer use a credit card. If something further goes wrong just threaten a charge back dispute procedure on your card. It is kind of like a stop payment on a check but better since previously authorized funds can be charged back from the merchant to your card in a...

Post here your Stark Varg issues (or not!)

Did you buy your bike from an authorized dealer? If so, that is bullshit for the dealer to let the bike out the door like that.

Stark varg support is the worst

Great points @UKLee. The pegs should be weaker than the mounts. It reminds me of those old Honda 70s where the peg mounts were on the side case. More than one friend caught one those super strong pegs on a low stump. Pegs stayed intact while the engine gushed out oil. That wasn't an easy fix...

I love this bike, but already have problems...

You could force it at least on the MX, it might reload the same version which may help if there was corruption. Maybe they changed that on the EX? Corruption can sometimes be caused by a power hiccup or a temporary condition like water invasion. I would definitely try to reflash it if...

I love this bike, but already have problems...

Well it can't get your 100.00 back, but for what its worth, I don't think you should take with more than a grain of salt postings on the internet either. I have owned 2 Starks now and I also have a 2020 KTM 300 TPI and a 2015 WR450F and the Stark is comparable in quality and reliability to...

I love this bike, but already have problems...

Have you tried a firmware update? Not sure if it is the same on ex as mx but might be worth a try. On the MX you depress the mode buttons at the same time for 15 or so seconds.

I love this bike, but already have problems...

Sorry did you purchase from a dealership or did you buy online? I have purchased 2 Stark Varg MXs and had no problems with either except the tubes over the past 2 years. My first one was stolen after the first year of ownership I was very happy with it. So I bought an exact version from the...
