Favorite hp setting for track on stark varg

Only 2 rides in, but I’m finding my 60 super easy to modulate without too much unexpected power, it walks right up the loading ramp. Never got to try the earlier software versions. I am enjoying the 0% regen, and find that chopping the throttle on jumps still creates forward rotation. Range...

    Stark Varg on the Dyno

Any update? Supermoto reports of Starks getting walked on longer straights. Has anyone dyno’d the 60 vs 80?

    Power Upgrade on the Varg

IIRC the “80hp” Alpha maximum on the dyno is 63hp?

Owner's Review The Torpedo bat of Dirt Bikes, first impressions.

The brain power is underestimated. Not only do you go from 2 hands and 2 feet to only 2 hands, but your left hand doesn’t have to cover any stalling risk, or adjust rpm to an appropriate position with a clutch. It’s like freeing your mind from 2/3 of its usual routine, and the ability to keep...

I have been loading up my pickup with the bike off, and it’s just a little more difficult than a gas bike. The inherent drag is why I am using zero regen, there’s still some rolling resistance.

Owner's Review The Torpedo bat of Dirt Bikes, first impressions.

The ability to stand on the national MX track and trails for lap after lap were something I would never have imagined, but it’s a fact. I can’t easily explain how it works, I assume because you’re not constantly having to reposition your legs for shifting and braking. I rode more on the balls of...

Owner's Review The Torpedo bat of Dirt Bikes, first impressions.

2nd day even better. Swapped to a 14t countershaft and got a longer torque pull, wheelie at will, less wheelspin. Tightened the steering stem to 40ft lbs. but afraid to go further and break the bolt? The front end was less nervous. The shock doesn’t like trail speeds, but is great when on the...

I find it kind of weird that with that fancy tool kit the torque wrench doesn’t go below 20 when you need 17 for your front triple clamps, and there is no T 25 torque driver to adjust a chain so I am off to Northern tool to grab those.

Owner's Review The Torpedo bat of Dirt Bikes, first impressions.

I used your most recent settings and they worked out pretty darn good for a stock bike, thanks for the help on that. I’m changing today to the 14 tooth countershaft sprocket, I like the bike in the low end and not so much when it gets faster, it starts to make a whistling sound trying to keep...

Owner's Review The Torpedo bat of Dirt Bikes, first impressions.

First day impressions: Drivetrain is a cheater, suspension is good for stock. This bike is the Torpedo bat of dirt bikes. The ability to overcome mistakes with the motor always in the right “gear” is a bonus. No stalls like a typical moto bike in the trails. The ability to stretch a “gear” is...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

Now you are getting what I was saying. With a gas bike like my Beta 480, the rideability goes up with taller gearing. Less wheelspin and clutch and shifting, just cruise and it's got so much torque and flywheel stalling isn't an issue. The optimum spot for me is 15/48 which for most is...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

I think a lap time comparison would also be revealing. I'm not sure you could accurately measure battery usage in a few laps?

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

I’m convinced this is the way, better rideability and range. RPM and wheelspin is the enemy. Waiting for someone to prove it. Sprockets are cheap, ridiculous torque to pull it. It’s also likely that dialing down regeneration would have similar effects. Braking is the enemy, rolling momentum is...

Australian Championship shows why the AMA has banned Stark. It ain’t Safety.

My experience trying to race 2t against 4t was the same, I could get a good jump from the gate, but the noise kept me from nailing my shift point and I would lose momentum. I thought about making a shift light it was such a problem. The noise thing is a distraction from the real issue, fear of...

Australian Championship shows why the AMA has banned Stark. It ain’t Safety.

With most tracks going full AMA for practice and racing due to insurance the timing couldn't be worse. They won't allow gas and electric at the same time, but there aren't enough e bikes to make a class. Odd bike out. It is commonly blamed on the insurance regulations, without any data to back...

Throttle and traction control on the Stark

Has anyone tried much taller gearing to chill the throttle control? With this massive torque it seems like it might be a good direction anyway? How about adapting a throttle from another make, Sur Ron or whatever? Something with a filter built in, or adjustability?

    Dealership delivery

Learned a lot talking to the dealer, who has the bikes but no Dealer license yet so can't sell them. Tested sag, liked the hard springs, and saw that the kickstand can be added after the fact with the female threads in the frame. Also very interesting that the dealer encouraged me to order a...

    Dealership delivery

67th birthday today, got the new bike bug. A new dealer just popped up with 3 bikes right down the road. My problem is spec, and how to get the deal and specs I want the quickest, since a scramble is coming up on March 1st, willing to drive. Is there a way to search the details of how to find if...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

I’m guessing 1% of the world’s riders having elite pro level talent is probably high? Again, 90% of pro races don’t have lead position changes after the first few laps. Boring, and therefore not a popular entertainment choice. You mentioned MXGP, but we are in a Enduro model thread...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

99% of the world’s riders/consumers drain their bodies first. Moto races are too long and boring anyway, hence Triple Crowns. If they aren’t scared then let them race?
