Ordering next week, do I get a 60hp or 80hp version?

I consider myself an amateur by modern standards, I've been riding irregularly for the past few years after having started a family. The stark appeals to me being a low maintenance option.

It's $1000aud difference between the 60hp and 80hp versions. I'm about 90kg in gear (198lbs) 90% of my riding is slowish single trails, a little bit of sand, occasional hills with rocks strewn everywhere. I'm sure I would be happy with 60hp but am tempted to get the 80hp just to "see what it's like"

Don't know about power but given the issues with deliveries and delays, if you have a dealer reasonably close to you I would consider buying a bike in inventory at the dealer.

If you want to stick to dirt, go with the 60hp.
I've had my 80hp EX for 1 month and I'm glad I got the 80hp because I do both street and dirt.
I'm even going to order a set of supermoto wheels this month :)

the 80 actually makes 63hp
i ride with the alpha 80 set on the phones 60 anyway
consider resale as well as what else it may alter
delivery from stark itself is nothing but a cluster f**K
local dealer if they have what you want in stock
get rid of those stupid tubes before it leaves there shop

Hi my friend, i was hesitating between the 60 or 80, but since I found out that if I chose the 60 I could later upgrade to the 80 by paying the 1000€ later, I didn't think twice and chose the 60. I can assure you that it is totally enough power for the road and for offroad. The acceleration is incredible, at 60 hp, even at 45, the front wheel lifts off if you turn the grip too much, you have to be going at least 50 or 60 km/h so that it doesn't lift you up and yo need to lean forward. On dirt, I usually go with 25/30 hp and it is more than enough, even in technical sections I lower it to 15 hp.

Do whatever you want but if you are willing to pay extra for the 80hp version just do it later, try 60 for sometime and see...
