Electric Cycle Rider reviews the Flux Primo

It seems to me the HV-battery-MX-bike manufacturers (Alta / Stark / Flux?) have all independently concluded that a 4p battery (4 parallel groups) makes the most sense for a production bike - so I get the feeling any significant reduction in battery weight/output will have to come from the...

Rear hand brake - major fading, solution??

Enzo!! Be sure to add scratchy nasality :): "La frenata è per i PERDENTI !! Se l'acceleratore non è completamente aperto, non ti stai impegnando abbastanza!!" Neither am I, at least not anymore. Here is an old thread of mine, might be helpful for those who haven't seen it.

Rear hand brake - major fading, solution??

If you're not already, I'd definitely try HH sintered pads - mine worked better when hot, even with the rotor almost glowing. :) I've had other pads that gripped really well cold-to-warm and faded when super hot; maybe something similar was used on your bike.

    Problems with Charging

Stark sells the US 240V-120V adaptor plus US 120V and 240V power cords. The first place I'd call would be a US Stark dealer, who might well have one or more in stock.

    Battery is dying so fast...

You mean the ignition-rotor magnets for my vintage bike? It's just a nearby magnet-recharging guy. For the record. I have not recharged the motor magnets on my Alta; if I was going to do that, I'd send the entire motor out to a Fukuta-authorized repair shop. With a quick search I found. Accu...

    Battery is dying so fast...

Since a charged / properly-functioning Alta battery supplies more than enough to drive the motor to full power, this tells me something I'd already learned from all my electrics - the motor (specifically, the "permanent" magnets in it) is getting weaker, requiring more twist for the same pull...

Stark Future’s utter communication and logistics incompetence

Re the lack of tracking info - I worked on cargo ships from 1979 to 2005, most of them container vessels. At times it was an absolute zoo. I've seen dozens of containers tumble into the water, forgotten ones left ashore for many months, 'mystery' ones not on the manifest (these were scary)...

    MX14 80/120-19

When I get my Stark, the first thing I'll be checking is the actual chain slack from zero to full travel, thru the entire wheel rotation, as delivered. The second thing will be posting the results here. :) I trusted my Alta manual's slack specs to be 100% correct, but when the OEM Regina chain...

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

Imo one of the greatest benefits of Stark's big initial numbers is presenting themselves as a 'risk worth taking' to aftermarket-part developers, especially regarding batteries with their replaceable-cell design. I'm cautiously hopeful.

    Stark Map Recommendations

Re the 80hp - all my electric bikes have dropped power output as they aged, so imo it's best to start out with more than may be needed at the time. Btw, Josh the Stark rep told me 60hp bikes can not be converted to 80hp later (possibly an EU regulatory thing, idk).

New mod today - Added Stark LHRB

Cool - and it's got a choice of piston sizes! Thanks!

    Anti-Theft?!

Please, enlighten us! (no sarcasm, just a very real need-to-know). My concern is simple: can any Varg drive functions (on/off etc.) be controlled wirelessly? On my 3 other electric bikes they can not.

    Anti-Theft?!

So... I'm guessing this motorcycle will likely spend every waking (& 'sleeping'?) second seeking out every cell tower/hotspot/home network/wardriver within range, no doubt generating/storing? plenty of metadata/error codes/spurious BS in the process. Surely this is of great benefit to someone...

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

A long time ago I had some fork oil with a moly additive, looked like a diluted version of your silver stuff. If it's actually aluminum it should drop to the bottom eventually.

    Stark Map Recommendations

For me it's the opposite - I want the least possible throttle rotation that still gives me excellent control, so I don't have to change my right hand/arm position much (especially while standing). I mainly use map 4 on my Alta for this reason, and it's also why I considered Stark's promise of...

For Sale SOLD! 2018 Alta Redshift SM (supermoto)

Great to see this piece of Alta history reunited with a charger!

For Sale SOLD! 2018 Alta Redshift SM (supermoto)

OK, that's what I thought. In this situation imo the best bet would be to get the bike fully charged before anything else, and the standard charger's always worked great for me.

For Sale SOLD! 2018 Alta Redshift SM (supermoto)

Wow, really? With an A pack, and what must surely be version 0001 firmware? :) I didn't realize the fast chargers were there in 2017, thought they came later for some reason.

For Sale SOLD! 2018 Alta Redshift SM (supermoto)

Yes - and to the best of my knowledge, it's the only Alta stand-alone charger that could possibly work with the SM 007 for sale in this thread.

For Sale SOLD! 2018 Alta Redshift SM (supermoto)

Looks identical to my '18 and '19 MXR plugs for the Alta stand-alone chargers. If it were my bike, I'd carefully inspect the underside of the charging plug and it's connections (pics would be great, I could compare it with mine), and if OK I'd then offer money to anyone willing to sell or lend...
