Received my email from Stark “ready for production”

I got a ready-for-production email too, and my designated dealer told me it was no problem having my Stark sent to my house - they'd check it out first at the dealer, then deliver it with their truck. :( It strikes me that the dealers I've contacted recently seem to be treating Stark...

    Some info regarding US orders/deliveries

Thanks much for that info! Here's the entire .pdf text - I've got some questions, and highlighted items I'm confused about in bold. Which states can Stark deliver to? If someone does not know those states (I don't), how can they know if they need to 'reach out'? Who is my 'assigned dealer'...

Uh Oh!!!!! Stark guys keep an eye on your pivot mount.

Based on my experiences with this exact procedure, a few suggestions in bold that worked better for me in determining custom-spring specs that absolutely will not bind: remove the spring, measure the wire diameter, multiply by number of coils in tenths (i.e., 8.7 turns; I found this difficult...

Uh Oh!!!!! Stark guys keep an eye on your pivot mount.

I hadn't thought about spring coil-binding, which I agree is the most likely problem - on nearly all the springs I've spec'd (all softer than stock) I had to be real careful to avoid it It seems to me that when the Stark shock hard-bottoms, the swingarm tries to keep moving up and the linkage...

New mod today - Added Stark LHRB

Nice install! This is pretty much what I'd planned to do, as the 9.5/10.5mm piston Clake MC/lever seemed a bit weird to me. If I can find a 9mm, I might go with that instead.

    Please shout up any issues

In the Stark video they remove the skid plate 1st, then it looks like a pretty straight shot to the drain plug if that helps. Another thing maybe worth trying is an EZ-out type bolt extractor into the Torx opening, if you have one the right size. I didn't realize the drain plug is aluminum; ime...

    Please shout up any issues

If you have a hex drive flat-blade screwdriver bit of the correct size, you might be able to hammer it into the damaged Torx area and then use heat + hammer drill to back it out. It seems like the Torx-screw metal is pretty soft, you might get lucky.

    Stark Varg + Rivian R1T= 🩶

According to Rivian their AC outlets supply 1500W max, so I guess the Stark charger's 120VAC power draw is similar to the Alta's (1400W). I found the quote below at a Rivian forum - apparently this is from Rivian, re using one to supply house power during a blackout: "To use the...

Question about Stark charger 240v adapter: is neutral required?

I really like the Kil-A-Watt AC meter - this 4400 looks a little easier to use than my EZ model. It completely eliminates AC-power guesswork.

    Certificate of Origin for DMV

MCO = Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. The US ones I've gotten have the mfr's name / address and bike specs / VIN / engine # / purchase dealer etc. printed on the front, with buyer / lienholder details handwritten on the rear. Hopefully the MCOs Stark sends will be similar.

    Certificate of Origin for DMV

OK, thanks for that info! Not having a cert. of origin kinda limits what can be done with the bike, and nearly every time I've sold one the new owner has asked for it.

So... what paperwork does Stark provide with the bike?

    Varg Silent Passing Issues

Re the mechanicals, I just inventoried an Alta street-legal conversion kit and it had 24 parts, including two wiring harnesses and a different rear fender. Lots of stuff.

    Sold 2019 MXR, new/unridden, w/EXR conversion kit

Excellent, Dan! It's the best bike I ever owned, by far.

    MXR making noise.

Mine does it a little, especially when pushing the bike around. Imo it may be wear in the reduction drive, gears and/or splines.

Thanks for the link. Virginia's tax is even higher. :(
