Wow, that’s an interesting one for sure. What firmware version is that running? I had one once that wasn’t reporting the voltage correctly, but that was on a single p group.

For sure if someone wants to spend 10k +/- on a used bike with no manufacturer support, and doesn’t care to do any homework about what their getting into, than it’s on them. Having the bike at 25% or so to begin with and then charging it back to 100% should trigger any/most cleared code 36’s...

100% and 25% should show most major issues pretty clearly and would be the bare minimum that I’d want to see if I were looking at a bike.

Excellent point! @Philip , perhaps we should pin this up somewhere? And to add to this, ride logs tell all. Problem is they are painfully slow to download and you have to know how to read them, but they can’t (at least not easily) be tampered with.

Hmmm, unfortunately there’s more going on there than a simple broken wirebond. I’m thinking thats probably something wrong on the module PCB.

Your first step would be to get it hooked up to a diagnostics laptop to get a better idea what is going on. Fortunately you are in a good state for that, lot's of members across California.

First step would be to get an idea what is causing the code, a screenshot of the battery tab from one of the non-dealer versions of multi-tool would give a clue to the severity of the imbalance.

If replacing the desiccant bag, be sure and smooth/deburr all the edges of the metal retainer as it is very sharp and can cut into the bag.

I haven’t had a Dunlop up front that hasn’t chunked out on me on the terrain I typically ride. Bridgestone M59 is the only thing I will use up front, and while most MX guys will roll their eyes, Shinko 525’s in back. They are cheap, wear very well, but they are heavy.

I’ve heard before that “it would be easy”, but then when it comes down to actually doing something everyone pulls back. Most speak before actually seeing how these batteries are built. Liquid has battery cases, honeycombs, etc. so no need to do anything there.

Anyone who has a side panel that the lip has broken off (completely or otherwise) and would be willing to donate it to r&d a repair idea that we are working on please let me know. Thanks!
