    lowering rear shock

Looking at Jeff's video I think I may try the Zeta spacer that goes on top without the need to disassemble the shock. They are on back order until 7/15. Anyone used one of these kits yet? The beauty of this set up is it is cheap, fast to install, and totally reversible if I find I want more...

    lowering rear shock

Thanks, I saw that but wasn’t sure it was for our shock.

    lowering rear shock

We did a single track ride this weekend with a lot of "nothing but big rocks". On normal terrain I can reach the ground on my EXR comfortably but here, not so much. One of the things I did to my Husaberg 570 was lower the shock and it made a world of difference. Since I am seldom grounding...

    For Sale Stickers/decals

Thank you for reviving this thread. I was trying to remember who had promised the fender decal a while back. Butch, send me a PM and I will give you my address. Sorry it took so long. I trust your AltaVault still serves you well as does the two on my bikes.

Rear brake master cylinder mount. Has it been broken?

Looks great Don, and very reasonable. Thanks for doing this ( not only the kit but bringing the problem to the forum's attention.)

Live StreamInterview with Alta Motors Co-Founder Marc Fenigstein TODAY

When Marc was talking about the entire experience of riding I thought back to what sold me. I had no intention of another buying a bike, much less an electric bike. What impressed me was the power, suspension, handeling, but it was my ability to HEAR the traction as I went through the woods...

Would you buy a Harley EV?

I used to just hate HD, now knowing more of the underhanded dealings on their part, it goes far beyond hate. They deserve every bad thing this struggling economy can throw at them, with any luck, they will go belly up. Long live the spirit of Alta that remains.

Would you buy a Harley EV?

When I saw the "would you ever buy a HD" .... besides NO, that is the first bike I thought of. I almost bought one when they came out but I wanted a big bore and it was only a 250. It was a neat bike, too bad it fizzled.

1000 Miles On The EXR Today

Would there be any merit to using a heat gun to the side panel? While it is warm and pliable, push them in with a block to create a softer contour. I have often remolded fenders, gas tanks, and other assorted plastic parts. You could even unfold the u-shaped contour of each rib to soften the...

Rear brake master cylinder mount. Has it been broken?

This is a good edition to the Alta. Mine have held up perfectly on trips to WindRock and five local outings. I'm sure Don's will be prettier than mine but rock solid as well.

Thanks, so much for all you guys do keeping this site up. I think we would all be lost without it. I know I was going through withdrawal.

    New PRP Steering Damper

The reason I choose the Ohlins damper as opposed to the Scotts, is that it offers more control and it is a much more compact unit. Better suited to under the bar applications without raising the bars way up in the air.

    New PRP Steering Damper

I went about it a little differently. I made a 0.250" thick spacer to go between the bar clamps and the triple clamp. You can see the black powder coated piece and, just to the left of it in the picture is one of the three mounting points for my AltaVault which protects the display. Hope this...

    New PRP Steering Damper

Here are a couple pictures of the damper I used. I used the insert for the headstock bearing for the stabilizer mount. I needed to machine out a notch fromeach of the handlebar mounts to afford me enough width for the main unit. The top bolt for the triple clamp needed to be re-machined to...

    New PRP Steering Damper

I first started using a damper on my Husaberg when riding the higher speed rocks out in Colorado. It saved me several times and I had adapted one to my FreeRide. When I first got the Alta I was not sure I would stay with it so I did not tear it off the Berg or FreeRide, but found another to...

What do you think of this?

When I first saw the Alta in while riding in GA, I had never even heard of them much less seen one in person. After the test ride (swapping between my highly modified FreeRide and the Alta) I was so impressed I bought one on the spot! I have never looked back and still own two of them. These...

    Retroactive E-motorcycle Federal Tax Credit

It's official, I got the tax returns back from the accountant and I got $1,073 credit for buying the '19 EXR in Texas. Now I wonder if the '17 MX from Georgia would be considered as an amended return for 2018. I had set it up to be street legal and I had plates, inspection, and insurance on it.

What do you think of this?

Yeah but like he said, he knows the Alta (never ridden) so he doesn't have to to make his comparisons. I have a FreeRide and two EXRs. I'm keeping all three, but I haven't even started the FreeRide since I got the Alta.
