Sounds like the crystal board is damaged. You can try tightening the small screws to see if the pressure will help, but more sounds like a display board swap.

Hard to tell if the display took some shock, almost looks like a loose connection.

The only existence of this part is with its original owner/designer. Graphics are also one offs.

@zootie To quote @OneLapper one more time. And to also re-emphasize for the final time. You need to update your bike. Before you play with the pack and possibly damage the internals do the simple repair first.

The MXR has different cell chemistry than the MX (Panasonic vs Sony) . The 17 MXs might be a bit different compared to the final MXs (production/process/part refinements).
