Riding a 30 mile poker run tomorrow on my EXR

Almost. Yes and no! If you keep the key on, the bike will estimate based on usage. If you cycle the key, the bike will estimate based on the voltage. See below:

    DC charging spec

The fast charger does charge an MX or EX a little faster.

Alta and Nate Adams Make X Games History

This is not exactly racing, but still a competition. Good job, Nate! Nice to know that the Alta is a competitive freestyle back-flipper as well.

Alta and Nate Adams Make X Games History

Nate Adams positioned his Alta Redshift MXR as the first electric motorcycle to ever qualify and compete at X Games. The most decorated Moto X athlete in X Games history put his MXR head-to-head against some of the industry’s biggest names in this year’s Best Whip contest at Summer X Games in...

    2019 / 2020 wish list

I think an on/off button will not make anyone happy. Some will complain that is too much engine braking, some will say it is too little, and even those who are okay with the amount will still have to cycle it on and off all the time in order to adjust their deceleration. I had such a button on...

    2019 / 2020 wish list

LOL! That is a stretch. But Alta has a tri-axial accelerometer (and maybe even a gyro), so if need be, it is easy to tell what the bike is doing exactly.

    2019 / 2020 wish list

The throttle still works if it is turned in reverse. Roll it in reverse to go in reverse, if the bike is stationary. Roll the throttle in reverse while at speed to increase engine braking.

    2019 / 2020 wish list

Even MX guys could use the reverse!

    65° throttle

I already started thinking about upgrading my MXR throttle to a 65deg unit, LOL.

    Recall ~

Martin MX, near Martin, MI. It is an awesome track, same dirt as at Red Bud, but with shorter straightaways and more doable jumps. You and Dan should carpool!

    Battery life??

Oh crap. This reminds me. I am building a van with 4.8 kWh of LiFePO4 batteries in it to charge the bike at the track. If Alta is going to make a Redeshift with a "2-liter tank", then it will have at least a 10 kWh battery. The electric motor efficiency cannot be increased much, so the only way...

@JMP , Here are a couple of links for you. The first is from your fellow FTR competitor. Hare Scramble How Far Have You Gone?

    Recall ~

I rolled my throttle forward while riding today, on purpose. Nothing happened. If/when my rapid charger arrives, I will be making a trip to the dealer to pick it up and flash the new firmware. Or maybe the @WoodsWeapon's personal Alta mechanic could flash is. Next weekend we will be having a...

80cc of oil to change. I bought a 1L can, it will last me for the rest of my life, LOL!

    Warranty/Dealer question

Not buy but rent with a $3000 security deposit. @Elite Motorsports said that was an available option. So, if this option indeed exists, then the cost should be very reasonable, with the main expense being the shipping of the laptop back and forth, I assume.

LOL! The vibrations never stopped the Harney riders.

    When two worlds collide

The CR500 is a classic. This is one of very few gas bikes that I would buy, if there is an opportunity.
