AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA/FIM races

Eddie Karlsson is probably gonna get some serious miles, electrics are legal to race in FIM Hard enduro world championship,

2026 Hard Enduro World Championship Calendar:

Round 1: Alestrem, France – April 17–19
Round 2: Extreme Lagares, Portugal – May 1–3
Round 3: Silver Kings, USA – June 18–20
Round 4: Abestone Rodeo Miravalle, Italy – July 10–12
Round 5: Forza Orza, Sweden – August 20–22
Round 6: Wild Woods Extreme, Italy – September 11–13
Round 7: Roof of Africa, Lesotho – September 23–26
Round 8: Sea to Sky, Turkey – October 8–10
Round 9: Hixpania, Spain – October 23–25

That will make Stark participating in 3 FIM world championships: WSX, Superenduro and now likely Hard enduro.

Minimum weight for electrics in FIM Superenduro just got dropped from 117 kg to 113 kg.

Well spotted from the guys at

I don't share their analysis though.

They're likely right that current bike does not weight 117 kg, it's probably closer to 120 kg. But I don't think 113 kg is something like a statement for the future or whatever by the FIM, it's probably much more down to earth and with immediate effect.

Indeed, this new rule enables Stark to race lighter batteries, for example, going from 100S4P to 100S3P would save about 7 kg. Which is a trick they've already done when racing AX UK and SX tour.

Now you do the maths: 120 - 7 = ?

What a great leap from the very first set of rules published in late 2024: electrics were then restricted to 48 hp and a minimum weight of 123 kg.

50 min with Eddie Karlsson at Romaniacs.

The trees, the climbs, the speed and the terrifying descents.

Gotta be mad to do this and mad skills to get out of it. And that's the silver class, meaning they skip some of the hardest bits.

That was his first time there, this year he'll race the gold class.

France Elite MX round 1

Poor results from Herbreteau in MX1 (14, 13, OA 13) and even worse from Lopez in MX2 (28, 16, OA 19).

Still think Herbreteau will be regular in the top 10. Actually expect big things from Lopez. First race in MX2, first race on the Varg, already holeshot and was running in the top10 for some time (arm pump in race 1, crash in race 2). The kid is only 17 and shows serious speed.

FIM Superenduro round 7

Eddie Karlsson profited from Bolt's absence to score his first Superpole. That was a good round for him, he followed that with 2-4-3 for 3rd OA (level on points with Walker in 2nd).

Martyn was close behind 6-5-6 for 5th OA.

They end up 4th and 5th in the championship, another small step for Karlsson who ranked 5th last year and terrific improvement from Martyn who finished 14th last year with Rieju.

Stark also won the constructor championship but that's not even good enough for bragging rights, they were basically the only team with 2 riders racing at every round.

Some news from down under, they got a Stark team over there.

Jett Carter is racing dirt track and flat track.

Kyle Campbell will race AusProMX and presumably AUSX as well. He did a couple of MX races last year, best result 14th then raced the whole SX season, ranked 10th in the championship with a best result of 11th.

The riders have been to Spain last month to test for one week with Stark.

Last year Stark were racing pro MX for the first time in France, now they're racing Elite MX, MXGB and AusProMX. More real world data from quite varied tracks!
