Stark Future NEXT NEW UPDATES

Y'all just giving me more reasons why I should just go all in for the Surron Ultra Bee by the way it is powerful and fast as well with a good suspension, will stick to it. 2025 Surron Ultra Bee 21kW - Sur-Ron Outdoors
Well, I had a surron ultra bee. And by the time I changed everything to make it mx ride worthy I spent another cost of a new bike. Even then didn’t compare to Varg. Sold Surron.

I see, I have just updated this morning however all my ride statistics are gone…showing 0hours now, I hope this comes back.

Paying a subscription sucks, I won’t be doing that.

WTF!?

They are going to put a possible solution to the weakest aspect of the bike behind a 1000$ premium.

I really, really hope they are not testing only on SM and sandy MX track.

Thanks a bunch marketing department.
The Varg is basically the only premium +10k dirt bike without TC.
In a short time, only 60 hp Varg will remain a premium dirt bike without TC.
Hurray.

I swear it's like they're adding a downside on purpose.

How is having an adjustable TC a downside?
The downside is annoying a significant part of Varg owners that will not finally have access to TC (unless they fork out another grand).

TC was featured in Stark communications since launch (like adjustable virtual flywheel), it's been promoted for 3-4 years now without ever specifying it would be reserved to alpha owners (in effect it means it's hidden behind a $1000 paywall for 60 hp owners).

Stark do have a unique way of improving their bike while simultaneously pissing off a good portion of their customers with stupid marketing strategies. Pro subscription 2.0.

you are correct, when the bike was announced in December of 2021, it was to be 220 pounds, and have traction control, virtual flywheel, and I think several other adjustable software features which we never got.
So, now, after waiting years, they want to charge a subscription for the promised, but never delivered features.
That sucks, but at least I have grown accustomed to the bike without all that stuff, and don't really feel the need anymore.
On the other hand, reverse mode was never mentioned until after I got mine, and that is one feature I am very pleased with.
I really like my Stark, but I am also looking forward to trying out a Dust and a Bonnell.

My comments read awfully grumpy, I root for Stark as I do for any e bike company, they're playing a huge part in electric dirt bikes becoming more and more part of the conversation and in my opinion they've already achieved terrific results.

I guess I have high expectations for them and I'm disappointed again by their marketing strategy.

I would love to see their pro subscription turn into a one time buy or, indeed, as a "free" addition when buying an Alpha. People are finding out (as i've heard from dealers) 60 hp is enough. That way they can make a bigger gap between the 60 and the Alpha and thus lure people into buying the Alpha anyways, while still selling a cheaper base model.

Businesses are allowed to make money and a paywall for certain features doesn't really piss me off. But a subscription model turns into something mentioned on your credit score in the Netherlands (and probably other EU countries) affecting how much you can borrow for a mortage etc etc.

I would without a problem pay 200 for the Pro features. But i don't feel anything for spending the same amount on a subscription.

I root for Stark
Well, I don't! I'm now 1 year into my Varg ownership and the experience with the bike itself has been great - most of my expectations were met, some exceeded and there really is only one negative I can't get around. Now my feelings towards Stark Future are exactly the opposite - total disappointment:

  • They keep pestering me with forced updates that change the way the Varg works, but they neither give me an option to decline the update nor do they tell me what is different or why it would make sense to update.
  • They stubbornly refuse to listen to customers, not even considering things like electronic clutch functionality, lighter battery options and so on - so many possibilities on their hand, yet they seem awfully unflexible to stray from the course big dog Anton has set in stone.
  • They promised customers could work on their bikes as dealer support is still weak, but then changed their policy and will not let the customer do major repairs like battery/drivetrain themselves causing prolonged downtime of the bikes.
  • They promised lots of additional functionality, failed to deliver most so far yet having no remorse to put the little they provided behind a paid subscription model.
  • And now finally they add some basic traction control only to make it exclusively available to Alpha owners - a 1.000€ upgrade to 80HP that many neither need nor want.
Well, I just recently watched the outcome of such behavior on a company with a stubborn CEO, refusing to listen to their loyal customers and growingly greedy methods - I assume we all know who I'm referring to; at least former KTM owners will ;) . This is not the way you keep customers and I'm in the market for something new as soon as there are viable (for me) alternatives available - which IMO aren't at the moment.

The promised functionalities that didn't come or behind a paywall are a bloody shame indeed. However much of the rest is pretty defendable i suppose.

- All updates so far have been upgrades. Never removed something or made the bike worse.
- They don't believe in the electronic clutch. With good reason i believe (and agree). Adding an actual clutch would mean a total redesign of their powertrain and probably the frame and battery as wel. Making for a super expensive project for very little gains. The E clutch would probably not add much and would demand significant resources that can not be spend on other stuff like traction control etc.
- Lighter battery options would mean a second supply line. People will want a different shaped battery as well since there are fewer cells in them. There you're adding engineering costs all over the place. Power maps will need to be programmed differently due the battery having less amps. That would also make their charger stand (even more) useless. On wich they would have to offer an alternative.
In their young existence it makes sense to narrow down supply chains to single components even if that means some customers can't get what they want.
- I'm rather curious how that no longer working on your own battery and power plant came to be. You are still allowed to, just not under warranty work. Probably they were being suid or someone in the legal department thought they would be in the near future. Wich is fair the be afraid of in their case i suppose.

Not everything you don't like is being done out of pure evil or stubborness.

Hey Michael, maybe I can help you get rid of this headache of a machine whenever you'll put your hands on your Jarv-E or whatever electric bike tickles your fancy.

I'll even help you out for free 😁
