Electric motocross survey: questions for Stark Varg riders

Funny how wildly different the wishes are.

Electric motocross survey: questions for Stark Varg riders

I would take up to 10kg heavier for extra range.

Electric motocross survey: questions for Stark Varg riders

I take it you're familiar with the Dutch OTR season? I would love to do that on the Stark, however my MX is not street legal and the EX would maybe do it. However with the charge time as is its a bit of a stretch. Were the battery swappable enough (kinda is) AND the battery be chargeable...

    Charging rate 2.7 or 3.3 ?

That's one thing Zero did nail. You could buy adapters so you could add additional chargers. Still very slow, but the idea was right. If Stark were to do that as an option they could sell another charger, adapter and charge port. Neglecting some of that the bike is too good to require spare...

    Is Stark testing an ADV/Dakar?

I did ride the normal version. Very good bike. Not as performance focussed as the Stark, but for exploring the area around Barcelona (been there Enduro riding a couple of times) it's a very good bike. Could be a customer that prepped its own bike?

    Maybe this bike?

    Is Stark testing an ADV/Dakar?

Did it look a bit like this? Royal Enfield presented this a time ago. The Stark motor with a dual Stark battery (roughly 14.4kWh) would actually be useful in Europe. IF it has fast charging.

    Charging rate 2.7 or 3.3 ?

No problems here. At home i charge it at low speed, but between motos at full. The reason being at lower speed there are a tadd less losses and less change of blowing a fuse in the house. We have 16A 230. But it's not the only consumer plugged in. If the battery is near the same quality as cars...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

One of the problems for HD. They build bikes like they always did. Kind of cool for the heritage thing, but why buy a new one that's like the old one. Those are also not bikes that get ridden hard. Suzuki MX bikes are almost the same as 2 decades ago, but there are plenty of reasons to buy a new...

The big Stark Varg supermoto information topic

Does sound good enough for me. I did get the change to ride an SM on slicks that were cold and that was downright dangerous. Not nearly as much grip as my skinny ADV tyres, that's something i don't want. But perfect is far from what i need offcourse.

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

But what if you Italians started working full time? 😜 Politcal jokes aside, i don't think you can compare Euro to Euro or Dollar to Dollar. Sure people in the US get paid more than mostly anybody else, but a lott of what Europeans ''get for free'' is a luxory or extra in the US. Health care...

160 wide? And do you use/need tyre heaters?

Super. I have to order today before 17:00 (set for '22 KTM). But that's just the rims. Tyres can wait a bit.

Thanks! And can someone maybe confirm a 5.00 with a 160 will fit?

I got the Stark MX and some Beta 2 strokes. Some while ago i found the joy of SM riding on karting circuits. Done 2 ''track days'' now. However still on the 21-19 with streettyres (Avon Trailrider). I got a good offer on a set of 17' 3.50 and 5.00 wheels that not only fit my Stark, but also my...

    Portable charger

Yess and no. For commuting that would be a significant win. However for Enduro riding that would be too exposed for my liking but more imporantly it is taking real estate my butt wants and needs in Enduro.

    Portable charger

Well what is considerable? I think 1 or even 0,8 kW could make it a viable commuter for me. That would also make trips with overnight stay in cabins possible without needing to haul the huge charger around.

    Portable charger

Would be great if there was one with a form factor that could fit under the fairings somewhere.

    Varg Weights

I think you got your units mixed up. 110 kg is 242lbs. Stark Varg MX is 118kg (260 lbs) or 122kg (268 lbs) with tubes that hold. A 18 - 26 lbs weight gap instead of over 50... Add to that a lower center of mass, less rotational force and no free liquid moving about on top of the bike and it...

    Varg Weights

We're comparing a MX with an Enduro. Comparing to a YZ would be more fair and that sucks harder at enduro stuff.
