If you can see you info in the app then that's a good sign that it may not be the owner issue. If you had multi colored flashing lights, it was updating, and stopping in the middle is a no no. I don't know if disconnecting and reconnecting the battery would work? They really don't want untrained people doing that, but it's just a plug. I'm thinking now that you interrupted the update and it bricked. I still think they can reset it, but sometimes faults are found during an update and they end up sending a new battery or something. Good luck with it, hopefully they get you fixed up quickly.

Really I am not even going to comment on the complete
incompetence that is being shown by stark.
UPDATE yall gone like this one fellas!
Well you want the good new or the bad let’s start with the good: stark wants to replace the complete powertrain to a gen 2. They want me to take it to the dealer, the dealer that sold the bike no problem, call the dealer this morning after loading the bike let them know that I’m bring it and why they proceed to tell me not to bring it because stark is not paying labor cost and to wait to bring it when powertrain arrives and it is in its way. So now they say they won’t release the bike once they have it and powertrain is installed if stark future does not pay the labor cost! So my bike will be held hostage this is some F’d up stuff dealer is apparently taking over my emails with tech support and trying to get it handled supposedly but they claim they have power trains on the floor in their shop new that they have not installed due to not receiving labor cost or warrant replacements! This is some. Authorized dealers k ow they will get paid but they are jamming customers up and stark knows this and it is in fact some BS but dealers keep taking in new inventory! Like wtf. So I’m at the point like wtf do I do now with this expensive paper weight!

Have you reached out to Stark with that info? Asked them to confirm if they are or are not paying dealerships for warranty work? If they are not, maybe ask them what other solution there is for your bike since dealership won't release bike of not paid for labor?

Fortunately I'm paranoid! I mean, seriously paranoid and usually I have a whole collection of spare parts before even having the bike in my possession. Now on the Varg one of my biggest concerns was always the control switch, because if that stops working for what reason ever you are left stranded even with an otherwise perfectly fine bike. In case of my EX I wanted the sleeker, easier to pack MX unit as the extra buttons on the EX are not necessary to just run it. Nevertheless the switch from the MX 1.0 will not fit due to the different connector so you have to use the MX 1.2 one. Now today when doing some maintenance after a ride on the weekend I noticed that the LED on the control switch had stopped blinking red. Turned on the bike with the on/off switch and found all the other buttons and the LED to be dead o_O So basically the bike would turn on (phone comes to life, relay clicking) but I could not switch it in gear and thus would have been stranded if on a ride! Looks like the control switch consists of two separate circuits, which makes sense, and while the on/off side is fine the control side and LED is dead! Grabbed the MX 1.2 unit out off my emergency pack and yo and behold the bike works just fine :ricky:

So guys, get an spare control switch and always have it with you when riding the bike!

I've contacted Stark about it and we will see. Coincidentally I also noticed that my tail light is broken, only flickering sometimes and being dark most of the time - looks like some water intrusion. I don't think there is a connection, but who knows; the whole thing is pretty weird.

I can't believe how many issues I'm having with my new EX. For such an expensive bike, I was surprised that my dealer sold it to me in a non street-legal condition. I had to install all street-legal items, horn, front and rear turn signals, left rear hand brake, and the license plate holder. Nothing went on easy or how it was supposed to. I had to jimmy everything in order to get them to work. As I'm sure everyone here knows, even the license plate bracket is too narrow for our American license plates.

Well, after I thought I had it all ready to ride, I noticed the brake light would not go out. I looked at the rear brake lever and saw that the brake light switch has a very small plastic pin that makes contact with the lever, but that pin was broken. After contacting Stark and explaining the problem, they sent me a new brake light switch, which took about three weeks to receive. After I installed it, the problem was still there! At first, I couldn't figure it out and I kept unplugging and plugging in the wire. I then unplugged the front brake and the brake light went out. I looked over at the front brake switch and it turns out that the plastic pin on that one is broken too, exactly the same as how the rear brake switch was. Is anyone else having problems with broken brake light switches? I guess I'll have to wait another three weeks for Stark to send me a new switch, but this time I asked them to have it replaced under warranty at my local dealership. We'll see what they say...

Did you buy your bike from an authorized dealer? If so, that is bullshit for the dealer to let the bike out the door like that.

Anything you pay for with that dealer use a credit card. If something further goes wrong just threaten a charge back dispute procedure on your card. It is kind of like a stop payment on a check but better since previously authorized funds can be charged back from the merchant to your card in a dispute. And the law as far as I know still favors the consumer in dispute. I have used it before it works. That dealer sounds very dicey.

I have some previous posts around here about the powerswitch. I ride mostly hard enduro and it is very swampy I have crashed my bike and submerged the switch in mud and it has failed far out in the woods. I have done this more than once.

The switches need rubberboots. I know the Stark guys like to wag their tech but having exposed switches on a dirtbike is for nerds not riders. They could have clear piece in the boot so the LEDs would be visible.

BTW most importantly make sure you either have chain breaker or install a master link in your chain for pushing conditions otherwise you will be in for a really long day.

Yes, being a member here has been really helpful and that's what made me get the spare control switch (and install the master link!) asap. Nevertheless I use my silicon toe protector when washing the bike and haven't had it in serious rain or mud yet so I doubt this issue was caused by water unless there is a connection to the taillight issue. But I guess that is the challenge with a new concept like the Stark in such a volatile environment.

So many issues ? Are you serious ?
It's probably the least significant issue I've seen so far, and I believe it is 100% dealer-related.
They can't even install brake switches properly...

I have some news about my red light issue, probably due to a faulty drivetrain.
The asked me to :
  1. Check Connections: Ensure all connections, especially those related to the powertrain and battery, are secure and free from debris or corrosion.
  2. Inspect for Damage: Visually inspect the powertrain and related components for any signs of physical damage or wear.
I did it, and everything was fine. They asked me to book a troubleshooting session, which is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. local time.

I contacted them several times, and they always answered quickly. They took a bit longer to respond to this issue, but not by much.
First contact on Sunday 17 => Aug 19, 12:25 => I replied on August 20 at 12:38. => Aug 21, 11:57

Does anyone have experience with the check engine icon on the Stark Varg EX? I received a brand new Stark Varg EX a month ago, it had the engine icon error from day one. At this point, it is just expensive garage art. Customer support from Stark Future has been lacking to put it lightly. 24-48 hour wait between replies. We had a video meeting, collected data, and sent me a replacement throttle, which did nothing. I am feeling hopeless at this point. Can anyone point me in the right direction because their support clearly cannot.

All updates have been made to the phone and bike. I did a hard reset (CAN bus connector) with the bike. Checked connectors. Recharged the bike.
