@Dave Daum congrats man that’s awesome enjoy

My feelings towards Amorge have gone down now a lot as I bought mine 5 days earlier than you and paid 365$ for air shipping and have no battery in sight yet… was planning to get a second one when the fist one is good but now I don’t know… at least I paid with PayPal and can pull the trigger and get my money back if nothing arrives…
Fear not, the battery will arrive. It is a bummer the airfare problem. If it were up to me, I'd request a discount on the second battery.

I will say that my battery is awesome. You will be stoked with yours.

As I said I got the Tracking number for the Local inner german Transport already on 19th December but since then UPS didn´t recieve the Parcel.
I wrote an indepth mail to Allen yesterday asking for a clear status of where its at and when I can expext it... but no answer yet.

Fmxxx666, I know the wait is a real pain. I said it before, once it leaves Amorge, they have the UPS or FedEx number generated, but with no tracking, since it is not in there hands yet. It is on the mysterious shipping device (unknown, plane or Ship). Once it lands in your country the UPS or Fed Ex can be tracked and you will be informed that they have it. I hate their stupid shipping system, but it still is hard to beat for the product they produce. Their batteries have proven to be real good, and they make the metal box to your specification, they just take way too long.

@DonCox yeah I guess I have to play the waiting game a little longer then.
that was a good info that I was lacking, that they already create the local UPS / FedEx label once it leaves their factory.
So I can assume it is only in travel since 19th Dec. then Christmas Holidays and New year hit where pretty much no one is working here in Europe espeacially toll and customs.
We will see I will report here once I recieve something. Fingers crossed it wont take too long anymore.

My Surron throttle feels way too sensitive. Does anyone have a recommendation for a throttle that offers better modulation? What about the Hirschmann e-throttle?

Dave, the throttle on my KTM was a Hirschmann throttle. I have also used the second one above ( from fmxxx666) with a standard cable and Hall sensor box. I like that feel the best. We have also used the Surron one. The cable one worked the best.

Thank you @halg . I modeled everything in 3D CAD and CNC cut all the pieces. Then I TIG welded everything together. Across the bottom are two 3/4" aluminum bars that bolt in to support the base of the battery. Everything is super solid.

@Dave Daum nice that battery cage looks really good (y)
Have you done anything special on the top of the Battery to like fix it in place by locking it down?

I also have updates on my Battery :D UPS recieved the packedge and it should be at my door on monday finally.
Sadly I have no skills in 3D Design or CAD and no access to CNC cutters capable of cutting metal.
So I will do my battery mount a little differently:
Plan is to make side panels for right and left (Aluminium or Carbon not sure yet... will make them from plywood first to see how it fits and then transfer the shape to metal or carbon). the sidepanels schould go across all fix points on the frame and have then aluminium tubes going through between the panels to hold the battery in place.

@Dave Daum so finally the Battery has landed :)

Packeding was on point

Unbenannt.jpgUnbenannt1.jpg
Looks like something a Cartell Speedboad would have dropped in Miami in the 80´s xD
Unbenannt2.jpg

Small Chinese English language barrier outcome I said "please make the Controller Leads Cable 65cm long"
What I meant:
Unbenannt5.jpg

what I got::LOL:
Unbenannt3.jpg

nevermind I have to shorten them more than half xD

But all in all the Battery looks perfect
Its 3-4mm larger on some edges as ordered but a few CM shorter on some other edges I think I can make that fit no problem as I ordered my measurements with a little fault tolerance of 3mm.

I wrapped it in thick car paint protection film as I have to put it in and out of the frame another 50 times when building the Battery Mounts and I dont want the beautifuly shiny Metal Case to get scratched all up during the process 😜
Unbenannt7.jpg

But the most important thing has been done already :) quick and dirty connect to see if all the electronics actually work.
And Yeeeha no fizzeling no guessing around plugged it in configured the controller on the mobile app and was able to turn the motor after 4 min and it worked like a charm.

here´s a little vid:

That first time you get the motor to spin up is beyond satisfying! I was yelling like a mad man when I connected everything the first time! haha. On video it's so underwhelming compared to the elation you're probably experiencing. Congrats! Build and battery are looking great!

a ton of parts are in now ready for friday to be installed.
Plan is to:
finally fix the motor in place
fix the controller in the Airbox
install the new Restyle Plastik Kit to see which areas of the Fule Tank I can cut away so it not gets visible.

then take measurements for the max available battery space
I hope we get that far as I am super enthusiatic to get to know how much AH at 72v Amorge can put in that space with a metal housing.
Hope I can get minimum something around this specs inside: AMORGE 20S13P 72V 52AH 320AMP Battery
the more the better of cause but at unter 50AH I would definatly need a second battery I guess for a full day of fun at the track with charging one while riding the other.

the EBMX Controller is such a sexy beast:

View attachment 12033View attachment 12034

it comes with a ton of wires and accessories.
the "regen thumb throttle" could get interresting since you can configure it as an E-Clutch.

for anyone interested I am keeping track of the Build costs:
(all prices are euros and keep in mind most stuff I had to Import from China and USA so of cause you can get it cheaper somewhere but I had to pay world wide shipping, tax and toll on top to get it here and European Tax & Toll is a total different story then for you lucky ppl in the US ;) we really have to pay a sh*t ton on top like if the item you import is higher (with shipping costs) than 150$ we have to pay 20% tax on top 8$ Toll handling 🤬 so a freaking Cable harness for 65$ in the US cost me 220$ with 70$ shipping and tax and toll until I have it in my hands)

Hello @fmxxx666 How is your build coming along? I'm curious about your EBMX controller. What are you using to switch between power levels? The E&C kit with the Votol controller uses as shown in the attached photo. What does the EBMX control use for switching between power levels? Perhaps the maestro @DonCox has some insights?

@Dave Daum the EBMX Controller uses this little display (below the display are 3 buttons MODE and up down arrows)
You can also see that in the test video I did.
It can show you a variety of details on the screen like speed / voltage / amps / temp controller / temp motor etc. etc.

You have 6 different modes available:

Street mode 1-3 (fully adjustable to your likings)

Race mode 1-3 (fully adjustable to your likings)

and reverse (yes you can let your motor spin backwards to easily move your bike backwards) as e-bikes have no neutral where they are easy to drag this maybe comes in handy in some situations.

On the left side of the handle bar I have the thump throttle that EBMX included in the controller package

IMG_2233.jpeg

This you can either use as throttle as an emergency when your twist throttle stops working or is broken while trail riding so you can safely drive back home. You can set it also up for regen brake so you can manually brake your bike with it (engine brake) and let the motor create energy to charge back the battery while engaging.

And the absolute coolest part you can set it up as e-clutch 😁 so you can twist your throttle engage the clutch and the motor won’t move… release the clutch and off you go… or just slightly taking away power in corners by leaving the throttle position as it was and kicking out of the corner by releasing the clutch. Haven’t tested this yet of cause but all I heard it that it feels great.

Yeah seems like I am Team EBMX Controller 😅 but that thing just impressed me with its features when I did my controller research.
Also you can setup everything within a min on your phone app no need to carry around a laptop.

Thank you @fmxxx666 for the guidance. I'm in the process of building another EMX bike. I plan to buy a X-9000 controller with the QS 138 wiring. I'd love to see photos of your set up as you progress. You have a place to stay should you ever plan on a visiting us here in California.
