Whoopsy moment ,poor throttle construction modifacation and lessons learnt :(

Nice. Ya if you are going to be way out with a long push a chain breaker or an install of a master link will be a good add on. Starks are tougher than KTMs but have Euro delicacy overall so ya you can go through some parts especially going alpha in the gnarl The throttle has great action but...

    Varg Phone is Garbage

The flakiest thing on the Stark for me has been the power switch. They do not like mud and dirt at all and can fail when they jam. My WR450 has beautiful sealed power buttons that have never failed in 10 years of hard gnarl. The boot is part of the switch and they are incredibly reliable. I am...

    Varg Phone is Garbage

You must have gotten a lemon. My Stark and the phone have been rock solid reliable. The only things I have had to change were the tire tubes and I have gone through some grips due to crashes in the gnarl. When I first got my bike I was careless with the phone holder and the phone flew out a...

    Varg Phone is Garbage

Generally Blackview phones and electronics are pretty good. I have had no problems with mine on the Stark and it has taken some hard hits. Blackview makes hardened phones for this kind of application. A Samsung or iPhone are typically not good at all for the bumping, jarring, and crashing that...

Very good review Dirt Bike Channel

Welcome!! The new pricing is great and I just think hands down the Stark is pretty damn good. There are some shortcomings like any machine but overall I am really happy and I paid the higher price. For my use case there were no sacrifices at all compared to my ICE bikes (both 4T and 2T). The...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

Supply and demand can cause higher or lower here. OEMs try to stop it but they are usually overwhelmed when markets soar or crash --and that is when you find the most variation.

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

This is true but the "varying degree" is more like business pressure rather than an legal pressure. In fact, price fixing can be illegal in the US, though it is mostly big guys who can afford lawyers to bring cases that will pay them out. Yet we also have a tradition in the US of seeking out...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

Right that is correct, I was using the state example for illustration. 2 dealers across the street from one another could give different quotes and many times in some retailing they shop each other and deliberately undercut each other's prices. Capitalist hardball is still played in many...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

As @AL_V says in the US resellers have flexibility to markup or markdown depending on supply/demand. Having a corporation fix a price and make everybody pay the same would hamper the free market in the US and also disrupt inventory control especially if local markets changed (NY's economic...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

I am not sure on the margins and it depends where you live I suppose. Having a dealer network is more than just service and markups though. A good dealer network can do localized marketing and outreach, especially to folks who are not early adopters and willing to make the change to a non-ice...

Austin Forkner talks about Stark Varg

Interesting. The idea of a clutch to modulate power definitely still lingers even among the elite riders. Well designed fly-by-wire systems actually give the rider more control over power and the control plane, and as the systems get better and better the whole notion of a clutch will go away...

    Enduro Model Confirmed

This should be pretty easy mod wise for Stark. The bike is already pretty good for enduro with a few user mods. Love Taddy Vamos!!!:ricky:

TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

I think the Stark is a pretty good for a European bike. Compared to KTM and friends, Beta, and the host other European machines (many of which I have owned) it is downright head and shoulders way better. But it still has Euroquirks some I can live with some I can't stand it is what it is...

@grayhixon what was the final outcome with your bike?

stark won’t go into gear after being washed

Ya I have powerwashed my bikes since the 80s since I have mostly lived in New England where it is quite rainy --hence the name-- and where enduro riding is mostly restricted to swampland and unusable polluted post industrial wetland. But over the years back to the 80s I have always been much...

stark won’t go into gear after being washed

It is not just Stark, most ICE bikes also don't recommend powerwashing either. I agree with you that we have to do it, but most manufacturers don't want to support it since who knows what pressures could be used. We just have to careful and realize if we blast something like electrics or...

stark won’t go into gear after being washed

Did you charge your battery and try it again? Also, did you try to dry out the power button assembly? It connects under the front number plate you could try to make sure those contacts are dry?

    Small Cover/Seal?

This is what Stark support says: "This is a plastic cover that doesn't protect anything special. You can glue it if you want it straight again."(y)

New UK owner road legal gen 2

Wow. I would have never known that. I worked for Arm from 2018-2022 and visited Cambridge many times. Love the town particularly when the company is putting me up.:) The UK and Europe in general has an awesome motorcycle culture --gotta love it having chargers is the bomb.(y)
